The Israeli occupation forces have launched a new wave of violations in recently occupied Syrian territories, dubbed the “buffer zone.” These actions include demolishing agricultural lands, destroying homes, and tearing down former Syrian army outposts. According to local sources from the occupied villages, Israeli forces began leveling agricultural areas near Tulul al-Humr, part of the Druze-majority town of Hader in Quneitra's countryside, on Tuesday evening. Using loudspeakers, they declared their presence permanent, marking the area as a "military zone" with restricted access. Reports indicate that between 50 and 75 Israeli personnel, accompanied by tanks, were stationed at the new outpost, conducting patrols and interrogating residents while speaking fluent Arabic.

Additionally, a new Israeli force has entrenched itself in the Harj area of Juba al-Khashab in northern Quneitra, after clearing trees and farmland to construct a 3-kilometer road leading to their base. Around 50 personnel have settled there, erecting heavy artillery. Early yesterday, the village of al-Hiran was raided, with all homes searched under the pretext of finding weapons. Meanwhile, agricultural lands with fruit-bearing trees were bulldozed, causing significant financial losses to farmers. The occupation also targeted and destroyed former Syrian army positions, according to information from local sources shared with al-Akhbar.

Similarly, in the town of Kudna in Quneitra, Israeli forces razed over 50 dunums of agricultural land, uprooting olive and fruit trees. Residents from villages near the buffer zone, such as Khan Arnabeh, report being displaced due to Israeli incursions. One displaced villager lamented the destruction of homes and outposts, highlighting the absence of action from the Syrian government. Locals also criticized the UN peacekeeping forces for their passive stance, observing the widespread demolitions and land clearances without intervention.

Tribal sources in Quneitra expressed frustration to al-Akhbar over the Syrian Interim Government’s refusal to meet with representatives to address the Israeli incursions. These sources warned against approaching international organizations without prior approval from the government’s Foreign Ministry, a stance seen as suppressing dissent. This silence, led by Ahmad al-Shara’, has been perceived as a deliberate strategy to avoid addressing Israeli violations.

Meanwhile, the Interim Government continues to tighten its grip elsewhere, including in the city of Sanamayn. Yesterday, Brigadier General Badr Abdul Hamid, appointed as police chief of Dara’a, convened with representatives in the city and announced upcoming security operations targeting “remnants of the previous regime.” Plans include confiscating weapons from all groups, including those loyal to the government. A local source told al-Akhbar that the Interim Government appears more focused on consolidating its authority than addressing sovereignty or larger geopolitical issues, particularly in southern Syria. It seems bent on quashing any threats to its security agenda, leveraging support from former regime loyalists in certain areas.
