Field sources told al-Akhbar that Syrian forces deployed along the Iraqi border opened fire late Saturday night toward positions belonging to the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

The US military completed the first phase of reducing its forces in northeast Syria, pulling out 500 soldiers and vacating al-Omar Oil Field and Conoco Gas Plant bases, along with a deployment point near al-Baghuz, close to the Iraqi border.

The US-led International coalition has nearly completed its withdrawal from Deir al-Zzor, eastern Syria, after two months of contradictory military moves.
